16 Vayadhinile was a super hit film that released in the late 70s. The film gave a great identity to superstar “Rajinikanth,” Ulaga Nayagan, Kamal Hassan and the late actress legendary “Sridevi.” The film directed by “P Bharathiraja” had “Goundamani” and “Gandhimathi” in important roles. The movie took Bharathiraja to heights. Initially, it was “S P Balasubrahmanyam,” who planned to produce the movie and they had even titled it as Mayilu. Due to some reasons, SPB was unable to produce the movie and it changed to some other hands, say the reports. Yet, we have to confirm it from SPB. Even after three decades their character names Paratta, Chapani and Mayilu of Rajini, Kamal and Sridevi, stay evergreen in the hearts of the movie lovers. Although they had a lot of good combination films, 16 Vayadhinile is the best, feels the movie buffs.
