. She is shocked to the core after hearing the news that the people are going out to stock things due to the 4day complete lockdown in Chennai, Madurai and Coimbatore. Although the government intends to control the virus spread, the public gathers in vegetables and grocery shops and this is shocking, stated Sripriya. She also requested the press and media and the public to maintain social distancing.
This is what she tweeted: “@ikamalhaasan @MaiamITOfficial முழு அடைப்பு நல்ல நோக்கத்துடன் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கலாம்.ஆனால், மக்கள் கூட்டம் கடைகளில் கட்டுக்கடங்கவில்லை என்று செய்திகளில் பார்க்கிறேன்...மக்களும் செய்தி சேகரிப்பவர்களும் இடைவெளிகாத்து எச்சரிக்கையாக தள்ளி நிற்க வேண்டும்...கடவுளே!” The government announced the lockdown from 6 am on 26th April 2020 to 9 pm on 29th April 2020 for Madurai, Chennai and Coimbatore. Salem and Tirupur corporations will be locked down from 6 am on 26th April 2020 to 9 pm on 28th April 2020.
