Will ‘Indian 3’ Directly Release On OTT?

After the massive failure of ‘Indian 2’, questions are being raised on its third instalment’s future.

In case you are unaware, ‘Indian 2’ was actually a six hour long venture, which was cut into two parts like the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’. The first part was released as ‘Indian 2’ in July, while the second part was shown in the end credits of ‘Indian 2’, which would throw light on the origins of Veerasekaran Senapathy, and his father, also a revolutionary who fought against the British Raj.

According to the recent reports, there are rumors that ‘Indian 3’ might be directly released on the OTT, instead of taking the theatrical route, in order to avoid an embarrassment like what happened to ‘Indian 2’.

Directed by S. Shankar, ‘Indian 2’ was released in multiple languages on 12 July. Made on a huge budget of at least 250 crores, ‘Indian 2’ was expected to carry the legacy of the original ‘Indian’ forward, which became a cult classic since its release in May 1996. However, on the contrary, the movie turned out to be a major critical and commercial failure.
