Curfew had been imposed in Thoothukudi and none are allowed to protest against the Sterlite factory. But, the people in 18 villages in Thoothukudi continued protesting against the Sterlite factory. A procession had been organized and the Thoothukudi people were about to blockade the collectorate. During this procession, stones were pelt and following this the police started lathi charging. Even after the bloodsheds, the people are protesting in Thoothukudi, says a report. Today is the 100th day of the protest. The public organized a bandh and all the shops are closed. Following the information that the protesters have planned a blockade, the security had been tightened at the collector office. Following the lathi charge, the protesters toppled the police van and attacked the police. Now, Thoothukudi is like a Warfield!
