“Mersal,” directed by Atlee Kumar has some scenes relating to GST, Digital India and medical fraud. The film that has been receiving the critical acclaim from the masses for those scenes had been receiving threats from the politicians. The film released after getting the censor certificate from the CBFC. A case had been filed against the film team and the CBFC to get back the censor certificate. The Madras high court announced that the case would come to the hearing tomorrow. BJP Leaders including Tamilisai Soundararajan, “H Raja,” Pon Radhakrishnan and Ila Ganesan had complained the film for its GST and Digital India scenes that seem to be a purpose insertion against the government. The medical practitioners also warned the Mersal team to delete the scenes about the medical fraud. Mersal has “Vijay,” Nithya Menen, SJ Surya, “Sathyaraj,” Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kajal Aggarwal, Kovai Sarala, “Vadivelu” and “Sathyan” are in the cast.
