Will ‘Indian 3’ be called off?
This is a question that many are now asking on social media, after the disastrous response to S Shankar’s sequel to the 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’.

, and it showed a glimpse of ‘Indian 3’ as well, where Senapathy’s heritage will be revealed. However, nobody seems interested in this after the underperformance of ‘Indian 2’ at the box office.
According to recent reports, ‘Indian 2’ was made on a budget of between 200 to 300 crores. However, in the first week, it has managed to collect only 70.4 crores from net domestic collections. The original version in Tamil couldn’t even cross the 50 crore mark, managing to earn just 48.7 crores overall. Even with the overseas collections, the total figure is slightly more than 120 crores, which is definitely not a good sign for a movie like ‘Indian 2’.
So, will ‘Indian 3’ be shelved? The makers have refused to comment on it, and some sources are saying that nothing will be changed. According to recent reports, only a few scenes and the post production work is remaining for ‘Indian 3’, which is actually the extended part of ‘Indian 2’, since the original cut was almost 6 hours long. However, going by the current situation, it would be a miracle if S Shankar actually manages to release ‘Indian 3’ by 2025.
