Another ‘Clash Of Clashes’ On Independence Day?

15 August will witness a mega clash not just in Indian cinema, but also within Kollywood.

After ‘Thangalaan’ announced its release date for the Independence Day weekend, ‘Top Star’ Prashanth also declared that ‘Andhagan’ will release on 15 August. Starring Prashanth, Priya Anand, Simran Bagga and Samuthirakani in the lead roles, this film is the Tamil remake of the 2018 Bollywood classic ‘Andhadhun’.

However, they’re not the only two films releasing that day. Keerthy Suresh’s ‘Raghu Thatha’ and Arun Vijay’s ‘Vanaangan’ are also releasing on 15 August, alongside Chiyaan Vikram’s ‘Thangalaan’ and Prashanth’s ‘Andhagan’.

Apart from the above, Bollywood is up with three films releasing on the same day: the much awaited ‘Stree 2’, John Abraham’s vigilante thriller ‘Vedaa’, and Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar also has a cameo role in ‘Stree 2’, though an official update is yet to be made.

However, that’s not all. Ram Pothineni and Puri Jagannadh are coming up with ‘Double iSmart’, a spiritual sequel to ‘iSmart Shankar’. This film will also be Sanjay Dutt’s Telugu debut. It will be facing ‘Mr. Bachchan’ on the same day, which stars Ravi Teja in the lead, and is the Telugu remake of the Ajay Devgn starrer ‘Raid’.
