The poster shows Rishab in a warrior mode. Kantara: Chapter 1 is going to be a prequel to the original, which delves into the legend of the Kadamba clan. The movie is set to hit the silver screens on the occasion of Vijayadashami, which coincidentally falls on Gandhi Jayanti, i.e. October 2 this year.

Rishab Shetty will not only be leading the acting crew, but also co-producing and directing this movie. The movie. Hombale Films will be distributing the movie, just as they did with the original.
