” play the leading roles. Samyukta plays a village girl in this film, which is a remake of Tamil film of the same name. When asked about the film, Samyukta said that except a few scenes, she didn’t watch the original version, as it was set in the background of Tamilnadu. When asked about her character in the film, she says, "I play street smart and talkative person. The character in Jigarthanda relates to my original character. I worked hard to become the character, Lakshmi. When my director advised me to be my character even during lunch time, I should be Lakshmi and behave as the character, rather than eating with spoon and fork. Although it took time, the transformation was really fun." When Sudeep was on the set, Samyukta feels a bit nervous. She also says that the experience in the sets with Ravi Shankar is unforgettable.
