1) Gautham Menon’s Movie Nadunisi Naaygal was a controversial cinema which was criticized by many people for the intimate scenes between Veera and Swapna, who were on the screen. Even the Hindu Makkal Katchi protested and demanded to delete those scenes. People were protesting in front of Menon’s house, who later clarified that the hero being a psychopath did according to his character and regarding the film which will get deleted just because it couldn’t do anything as expected.

2) Sindhu Samveli directed by Samy, which couldn’t achieve anything in the box office had some controversial scenes for showing the weird relationship between a father in law and the woman, a thing which was forbidden by the constitution. This movie was Samy’s third controversial film.

3) KS Ravikumar, who directed Dasavatharam, had to face many controversies for the movie. While shooting this picture, there was a storm on their stunt master who used unparliamentary words on workers, for which he got sacked, and new master had to be appointed. Later after the movie was released, it was said that the movie is a copy, but as it was legal the case was dismissed. Then another controversy arose that the scenes showed the clash between two religion, which was opposed by their parties.

It is shown many innocent people getting killed violently by Taliban terrorists, shown as Muslim people. Muslims wanted this movie to be banned as their religion is in the bad light.

5) Virumandi another movie of Kamal Hasan, which had controversies. This cinema, titled as ‘Sandyar’ which means rowdy, later got changed. In the banner is where the problem started in which Kamal Hasan was holding some weapons for which 'Vidudalai Siruthai Katchi' said that the poster is damaging their reputation. Later another movie got released with the name ‘Sandyar’.

6) Kaththi produced by Lyca Productions for which some group of people wasn’t comfortable with were threatening that Petrol bombs to be thrown on people who will watch that on screens. They were demanding that the cinema to banned. It also had some controversies related to plagiarism of the movie.
