Reality shows have become a huge part of our life in the 21st century. Earlier, to take up music as a profession one had to face a lot of challenges and struggles and even then it was not easy to secure a place in the industry as a playback singer. However, with the advent of this concept of a reality show, yesterday's dream for many has become today's reality. With shows like “ Indian Idol” , “ Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” and others conducting auditions all over India, many people over the years, irrespective of their background or status, has got a fair chance to showcase their talent. As a result, Bollywood has gained its much-needed army of talented youngsters who have taken the industry by a storm. 2. Shreya Ghoshal

One of the leading female singers in Bollywood, who brings life and soul to songs through her melodious voice, rose from “Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa”. She came 1st in the show, in the year 2000. With 4 Filmfare Awards in her bag, Shreya is winning accolades with every venture of her’s. “Sa Re ga Ma Pa” sure has gifted Bollywood with one of the most promising and sought after female singers of present times.

3. Sunidhi Chauhan

The powerhouse of Bollywood, crunching successive hits with her strong vocals, was the winner of “ Meri Awaz Suno“ in 1996. Starting as a kid in the industry, Sunidhi soon made a name for herself and quickly became the ‘reliable hit machine’ of Bollywood.

4. Monali Thakur

The Bong sweetheart from “Indian Idol” impressed the judges with her beautiful pitch and soft voice. So her elimination from Top 8 came as a shock to many. However, her career was far from over. 6. Toshi Sharib

The 2007 participant of “Amul Star Voice of India”, Toshi shot to fame with his groovy numbers from “ Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania”, “ Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2” & “Houseful 3”. He also participated in “Jo Jeetah Wohi Superstar” and “Ustadon ka Ustaad”. Toshi along with his brother Sharib, who was a “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa” contestant have packed a number of hits and the promising duo sure has a long way to go.

7. Harshdeep Kaur

Harshdeep rose to fame when she won the reality show “Junoon Kuch Kar Dikhane Ka.” She has made her own niche in the industry with hits like “Katiya Karun”, “Ik Onkar” and “Kabira”. With her recent music tour in the UAE, Harshdeep is surely on a musical high. We say “Go, Girl!”

8. Neeti Mohan
