The actor, sometimes even called the forgotten king of Bollywood, was once among the most bankable actors. His clothing was always unique, and something that the general public was not at all used to. When Govinda joined politics, he joined Congress and won magnificently over an experienced politician of Bhartiya Janata Party, Ram Jethmalani. After the win, the actor did not bother to visit his constituency even once, nor did he become available to them ever. Matters got worse when he remained absent even during the terrible phase of excessive rains in Mumbai that had caused the death of 450 people.
