Top 10 Best Shows Based On Comic Books English Article

Comics have built our childhood, and television shows that have adapted them, have reached great heights of success. Here’s a list of the top ten shows, based on comics that have been highly successful recently.

1. Agents Of S.H.E.I.L.D.

It appeals to the younger crowd, and the star cast doesn’t fail to disappoint. Thanks to the events of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and the adventures of Agent Coulson, a renewed sense of purpose was given to his team-- and Season 3 promises to be the most ‘comic booky’ yet.

2. Justice League Unlimited

Majorly based on the DC Comics, the show revolved around the joint effort of all the superheroes to save the planet. Every episode of the show is 22 mins long and contains a good punch of the good and the bad guys, which all in all make for some great story telling. Unfortunately the show came to an end with a fantastic war between Darkseid and Superman!

3. Daredevil

The show came off as a relief to all the Marvel/ Matt Murdock fans and has been successful in garnering the audience’s attention. The show is about a blind man who struggles to be the saviour of the city where the citizens don’t approve of people who see justice in only white and black. And it’s an extremely violent and graphic show!

4. Arrow

This is amongst CW’s popular sitcoms. It essentially is the ‘Batman Begins’, along with the character of the Green Arrow. It has been a hit ever since it began—majorly revolving around a rich man’s dream to save the world from crime.

5. The Flash

One of DC Comic’s favorite superhero, this new series has even cross-overed with ‘Supergirl’, which happens to be another comic book wonder. In only the first season we see The Flash transform from just another nerd into a superhero and the saviour of the city. He is a courageous young man and is quite emotional as well, having faced grave setbacks at a young age. Grant Gustin, the actor portraying the protagonist is great and so is the rest of the cast of the show.

6. Agent Carter

This show is a feministic creation, where Marvel’s boy wonder Steve Rogers is observed through the looking glass of Peggy Carter, his love interest and the only female to dominate the male dominated spy squad. The audience has ardently loved this show.

7. iZombie

It is a spawn of Veronica Mars meeting the world of the undead. It is a refreshing and smart show depicting the mess that is human emotions and its consequences. It is rib-tickingly yet terrifying and it subtly yet smartly portrays the shortcomings of being a zombie.

8. Supergirl

Kara-Zor-El, the cousin of Superman, lands up on Earth. The show was a huge move to introduce the character of Supergirl, which was underrated, but appreciated by the audience alike.

9. Gotham

Based in the Batman universe, a show neatly crafted, it traces the co-existence of good and evil in the city of Gotham. The star cast and the pure content makes this show widely acclaimed.

10. Constantine

This show too is a comic wonder. The story revolves around Constantine who struggles with maintaining his faith and gets followed by the evils from his past. But its his duty to protect the world from the evil surrounding it.
