1. Goynar Baksho

The film Goynar Baksho is about a woman who is a ghost. The film shows the lives and the social roles of three generations of women. The main character of this film is a widow. She hides her wedding jewelry. Her family loses ancestral lands. Now they have shifted to India. When her niece-in-law pawns the diamonds for her husband's business, the ghost of the widow visits her. She brings the second niece-in-law and her boyfriend together. The spirit also finally involves her daughter in politics. The 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and the Mukti Bahini insurgents' fight for independence are also shown in this film.

2. Parama

The film Parama is about the life of a woman named Paroma. She is married. She is a 40-year-old woman. She wants to pose for a magazine photo shoot. Rahul is a foreign photojournalist. He finds her photos. Now her life is forever changed. Her husband rejects her because of Rahul's dishonesty. Then she becomes mentally ill. Her family forgives her. Still, she does not want her previous life. The family agrees to let her return. This happens when a doctor asks for psychiatric therapy for her. She finally remembers the name of a flower that she had previously forgotten. This means she is recovering.

3. The Japanese Wife

The film The Japanese Wife is about the love story of two people over letters. Snehamoy Chatterjee is an Indian man and Miyage is a Japanese woman. They are pen friends. They talk over letters. They even marry through letters. They never meet in real life. Their relationship remains loyal and strong. It has been seventeen years. One day, Sandhya, a widow comes to stay with him with her son, Poltu who is eight years old. The boy and Snehamoy become close in a father-son relationship. He remains loyal to Miyage. She is suffering from cancer. He wants her to be cured. He goes to the doctor. While returning he catches a cold and suffers from pneumonia due to the storm. He dies. His wife visits him in a white sari and shaved head.

The film Sati is about the life of a young Brahmin girl. She has a bad horoscope. The film is set in the year 1828. Horoscope at that time is of great importance. According to her horoscope, she will become a widow at a young age. That means whoever will marry her, will die soon. Also, she will die because of Sati. It was a common practice at that time. That means she will be burnt alive. To remove this fate, her family decides to marry her to a banyan tree.

The film Yugant is about the life of a couple. Deepak and Anasuya are estranged couple. They live separately. One in Cuttack and the other in Bombay. They meet after a long time of eighteen months. They meet at a fishing village. It was their honeymoon destination. They are separated due to their career. But they find that their hearts are still close to each other. They want to live together. The film shows the reality of struggling for career and personal lives.

The film 15 Park Avenue is about the life of Meethi. She has Schizophrenia. Anu and their mother take care of her. She is her elder sister. She is divorced. She works as a professor. Meethi is not married. But she thinks that she is married to her ex-fiancé, Joydeep, and that they have five children. These are all her daydreams because of her illness. She thinks that she with her husband and children lives in imaginary 15 Park Avenue, Kolkata. One day when they go on a vacation, they meet real Joydeep in Bhutan. He is married and has two children. Meethi does not recognize him but becomes friends with him. When Joydeep comes to know about her condition, he decides to help her.

8. Paromitar Ek Din

The film Paromitar Ek Din is about the relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law. It shows loneliness and friendship. Sanaka is the mother-in-law of Paromita. They have built a strong bond between them. But one day, Paramita’s marriage to Sanaka’s son breaks down. Now the two women cannot remain close to each other. Paromita marries again to another man. She starts her new life. But Sanaka becomes lonely now. She becomes ill. Paramita comes to know about her illness. She decides to take care of her on her deathbed.

The film Ghawre Baire Aaj is about a love triangle. Sandip is a Hindu and nationalist professor. Nikhilesh was his childhood friend. He is a liberal editor. He lives with his wife, Brinda. She is a young Dalit girl. After a long time, Sandip meets them. Now their relationship becomes complex. When both involve in love with one girl. This film is based on the journalist Gauri Lankesh. This film premiered in Delhi on 18 July 2019 in the Jagran Film Festival 10th edition.
