Jisshu Sengupta is an artist who is known for his versatile performance in Bengal Film and Television sectors. Originally named as Biswaroop Sengupta, he is fondly called as Jisshu by his friends and family. His father Ujjwal Sengupta too belonged to Bengali film industry whereas Jisshu's mother Mukta Sengupta is from wedding planning industry. On personal front Jisshu is married to Nilanjana Sharma, since 2004. She is daughter of another veteran Bengali Actress, Anjana Bhowmick. Jisshu's fame began in cricket, then strongly routed in Bengali television and film industry. He played for sub-junior level cricket representing Bengal. However, he always wanted to enter silver or movie screen. He got his first break with a television mega serial by name Mahaprabhu. This is a turning point in Jisshu's acting career. He played lead role in this serial as Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. In terms of big screen, Jisshu worked with few finest directors in the Industry.
