He completed his schooling from Patha Bhavan, Kolkata and went on to pursue his bachelor’s and master’s degree in English literature from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He also holds a master’s degree in Film and TV production from Bristol University in the UK.

He bagged two more mainstream movies later that year, and also acted in two tele films. His career graph is a positive one and he has done many well acclaimed movies till date. His directorial debut was a feature film called ‘Jiyo Kaka’ and the film brought him critical acclaim. His role as a police officer in the super hit Bollywood movie ‘Kahaani’ brought him nationwide attention and fame and this helped him to make a deal with the academy award winning director Jeffrey D Brown.

His second directorial venture was a comedy number ‘Hawa Dol’ and the movie received mixed responses.
