Born on 26th June 1939, Sathankulam M. Abdul Jabbar worked as a Tamil radio broadcaster, writer, actor, and cricket commentator. He was born in Tamil Nadu, India. S M Abdul Jabbar grew up in the town of Sathankulam in the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu, India. After his primary schooling, he relocated to Colombo, Sri Lanka, for higher studies at a relative’s house. After completing his higher education, Mr.Jabbar moved back to India. He was a regular radio listener from his childhood days. He used to write feedback letters to radio stations about their programs. He wrote one such letter to All India Radio station which was red on air, and was invited to show his skills on the radio station. This opportunity changed his life and he started work as a radio jockey.
