VJ Kathir's real name is Kathirvel. He is presently acting in the serial Sembaruthi and playing the character Arun - the younger son of Akhilandeshwari. Kathir is also hosting the game show called
Jil Jung Juk
. Kathir also has done many things like acting, VJ-ing hosting events, in short films, etc. But, Kathir became a well-known household name after becoming a part of the serial Sembaruthi. VJ Kathir did schooling in Gandhi Centenary Middle school until the eighth class.
Later, he studied 9th to 12th class in Ondipudur Boys High School, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Apart from being a science student, Kathir was more involved in sports and extracurricular activities in his school days. Kathir joined B.Sc in Computer Science course in Sri Jayendra Saraswathy Maha Vidyalaya College of Arts & Science at Ondipudur in Coimbatore. Due to family issues, Kathir couldn't finish his graduation. After that, Kathir discontinued his course and entered into media domain. Kathir's father is a lorry driver. His mother is Parameshwari, who was a Construction worker, until two years ago.
Kathir's Brother completed his B.Sc in Chemistry. He is a sales manager and paper agent in the Medical Domain. Kathir's favorite food item is the dosa made by his Mom. During his higher secondary, Kathir was an active sports enthusiast. He won the 2nd prize in the District level - 4 x 100 meters relay, during 11th Standard. Kathir was brought up and did his education in Coimbatore. Kathir started his acting career in Coimbatore. He is proud to be an active resident, Coimbatore. Kathir was a very good Kho Kho player too. Kathir participated in almost all sports and won 1st or 2nd or 3rd prize during his school days.
Kathir actively took part in Mimicry, Musical chair, Fancy Dress Competition, Essay competition, etc. Before the entry into a small screen, Kathir was VJ for nine years. During this period, he has done 3000+ shows. Kathir cherishes the experiences of hosting all the types of events like birthday parties, ear-piercing functions, marriage ceremonies, corporate events, product launches, recording shows, live shows, celebrity interviews, and so on.
