Peter Hein

A Chennai boy born in Karaikal to the immigrants of Vietnam is famous for his stunt sequences and action director and choreography. He was born and brought up in Chennai itself. He belongs to Tamil Chettiar community. He started off as an extra stunt fighter in many regional films. His first venture as a full-time action director is Murari. He earned critical appreciation and fame through his work in films such as Varsham, Anniyan, Athadu, etc. Ram Gopal Verma, impressed by Hein offered him to work for James and thus it was his ticket to Bollywood. His next Bollywood venture was Mani Ratnam’s Raavan.

He had also worked in 2008 hit Ghajini for which he bagged a Filmfare for Best Action. In 2009, even after having 18 fractures he came back to work in 20 days for Rajnikanth’s Enthiran, which was also dubbed in Hindi as Robot. He also worked as an actor in few films like Ottran and Ko (Tamil Films). He has bagged awards for his work like Nandi State Award for Magadheera, SIIMA for Best Fight Choreographer in the films, Maattrraan and Julai, and a South Filmfare for Best Action Director. His most recent flick was Baahubali which was a blockbuster, and he is filming its sequel too.
