Ishaan Dev is an Indian singer, songwriter, composer, music programmer, stage performer and instrumentalist. He is popularly known by the name shaan in the industry. He mainly performs in South Indian languages and is a famous singer in South India. He was born in Thiruvallam of Thiruvananthapuram in the state of Kerala. He received training of basics in Carnatic music from his father Shri Soman and later on did formal training under the guidance of musicians like Chandrababu, Iraniyal Perumal, Neyyatinkara Surendran, and Ambalapuzha Vijayan. He developed a deep interest in music during his childhood days and was influenced by Classical music. He completed his graduation from University College of Thiruvandrum in Zoology.

Soon after which he formed the band named Confusion by teaming up with the violinist Balabhaskar. He played the part of being a lead vocalist and percussionist of the band. His band became famous amongst the people in the year 2000, and he performed in Malayalam language and also composed a song for a TV commercial titled Kaliya Visha Dhara. He made the debut in the Kannada language through his song for the film Shyloo, which bagged him a couple of awards. He won the Best Singer and Best Upcoming Singer in Kannada language Award in the year 2011. He has worked in Kannada movies like Samkranthi and Munjane. He also delivered songs for Tamil films like Elam Avan Seyyal in the year 2008 and Kai Thunindavan in the year 2012.

His work in these movies made him receive appreciation and praise from the audience. He has also published devotional albums in the Malayalam language which were certainly amazing and outstanding. Recently, Ishaan has made a comeback with some Tamil films and looked forward to influencing the audience by his performance. Taking about his personal life, Dev tied the knot with Jeena in the year 2009, and the couple has a daughter.

Deepan Chakravarthy

Son of one of the first few playback singers in the Tamil film industry and the grandson of a veteran stage and film actress, Deepan Chakravarthy is an established playback singer in Tamil cinema. He belongs to a talented lineage which gave Tamil movies legends, such as C. T. Rajakantham and Tiruchi Loganathan. He started off by performing at several stage shows and hence making his debut in the music world in 1974. In 1975, T R Papa introduced him on All-India Radio. Henceforth, Thanjai Vanan hosted him on Indian Television - Doordarshan. In 1980, Ilaya Raja, the Isai Gnani Maestro introduced Deepan as a playback singer in the film industry. His first song was "Oh Nenjame Ethu Un Raghame" with S.Janaki as his female counterpart in the movie Enakaka Kathiru. Ilaya Raja was responsible for the music in the movie and Gangai Amaran for the lyrics. However, the first song released was "Poongathave Thazh Thiravai" for the flick Nizhalgal. The same music director and lyricist collaborated with Deepan for this song. This song got him his first award as a singer. Furthermore, he has acted in movies like Rani Theni and Marupatta Konangal. His role in the film Arasangam received a lot of appreciation. In 2007, he quite perfectly played the role of a police officer in Veeranum Eeranum. His acting experience is not limited to the big screen; he also starred in Megala, a Tamil Television serial on SUN TV and Aaru Maname Aaru, a series on RAJ TV. Not only has he set a mark amongst the Tamil audiences but he has performed worldwide, with him conducting the first ever Tamil film music show in many countries. Denmark, Malaysia, Singapore, London, Sri Lanka, France, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Canada, Australia, Lebanon, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Kuwait have witnessed his musical excellence. Nithyasree Mahadevan is a renowned vocalist in Carnatic genre of classical music and had taken up music seriously since her childhood. After instant success with her debut song, she was again offered to sing another song by A R Rahman for film ‘Padayappa’. The song from this movie "Minsara Kanna" was a top chartbuster in 1999. In the same year, she lent her voice for another A.R. Rahman’s composition from film” Sangamam” and the song titled "Sowkiyama Kanne” had catchy notes. In the year 2001, she had lent her soulful voice for a song "Manmatha Maasam" for a film ‘Parthale Paravasam’. Other than Rahman, she also had lent her voice for music composer Harris Jayaraj for film 'Samurai' (2002) and composer G. V. Prakash Kumar for film 'Ananda Thandavam '(2009) and 'Aayirathil Oruvan' (2010). She has been a judge for various musical reality shows meant for the search of new talents in singing on various television channels in Tamil Nadu. They include Airtel Super Singer on Star Vijay and reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa on Zee Tamizh. She has sung many title songs of popular Tamil serials that are being showcased in popular Tami television networks. Being born on 25 August 1973, she is an asset in Indian classical music and the nation can feel proud of her.
