T. M. S. Selvakumar

T M S. Selvakumar is a famous playback singer and stage performer, who is widely known as the youngest son of the veteran playback singer Padma Shri T.M.Soundararajan, who sang several film and devotional songs in the Kollywood film industry. T.M.S. Selvakumar hails from Chennai and has a brother-T.M.S. Balraj and three sisters-Chitralekha, Chandrika, and Mallika. T.M.S. Selvakumar was interested in Carnatic music from childhood and learned classical music from the veteran film music director R. Sudharshanam. He made his singing debut in 1973 by performing on stage in a music concert for the ‘Paavalar Brothers music group at Kandhan Arts Academy when he was just sixteen years old.

Later, T.M.S. Selvakumar created a name for himself in the music industry by performing in the presence of legendary musicians like K.V. Mahadevan, M.S. Viswanathan, and famous film producer A.P. Nagarajan. Over the years, T.M.S. Selvakumar has sung several songs of his late father T.M. Soundararajan at several live concerts with various legendary playback singers including P. Susheela. He has also recorded many music albums of T.M. Soundararajan’s romantic and devotional songs for many years.
