Anahita Ravindran is an Indian classical singer. She has a younger sister named Apoorva Ravindran, who is also a classical singer. They both have been making their name for many years now in the Carnatic Music concerts and the contests scene. They took training under her paternal grandmother, Smt. Shanthi Jayaraman. They also learned under the tutelage of Chitravina Shri N Ravikiran, a globally acclaimed musician composer, and director. At the age of nine, Anahita Ravindran gave her maiden concert in Raga Sudha Hall, Chennai. She has earned many First Prizes and also Tanpura Prizes. In 2033, she received Miss Voice by Carnatica, which was judged by several eminent musical personalities. She was a finalist in Raj TV’s Ragam Sangeetam and was also the "Best on stage Performer" in Jaya TV. Also, she has given many programs in various TV & FM Channels. Anahita Ravindran was honored with the “Best Performer” by Krishna Gana Sabha for two consecutive years. From the Arts Culture India Foundation, Anahita Ravindran is among the first winners of the Excellence Award for Young Artists. She got first prize in Padam singing conducted by The Music Academy. Having earned the first prize in All India Radio (AIR), Anahita Ravindran has also been graded as a B High-Grade artist. She was also honored with the Gold Medal at the National level in 2011. The same year, she earned the Voletti Venkateshwarulu Award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai.
In 2008, she received the Musiri Subramanya Iyer Award from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. She was the recipient of the B V JIyengar Memorial Award 2005 from Sri Shanmukananda Fine Arts & Sangeeta Sabha, Mumbai. She has been the lead vocalist & singer for Dr. Vyjayantimala Bali’s Dance programs. Anahita Ravindran and her sister, Apoorva Ravindran were honored with the Government of India Scholarship for Carnatic music. Anahita Ravindran is also skilled in playing Chitravina and her sister is a violinist. Together, they have earned the “Spirit of Youth” Award from the Madras Academy in Madras and the “Best Performers” from many other prestigious sabhas.
They have also been on concert tours to the Middle East, Australia, US, and have participated in the Cleveland Aradhana & IFAASD Festival, San Diego, where they performed as lead singers in several operatic Dance-dramas. They have been granted the MS Subbulaskhmi Fellowship from Shri Shanmukhananda Sangeeta Sabha in Mumbai for three years. They have released an audio CD titled “Nalaya Nakshatrangal” and their CD, “Divine Equations” premiered at the Chicago World Festival. Aside, they are also involved in the production of audio & video CDs & publications by IFCM.
