A. L. Srinivasan, a Tamil film producer, best known for introducing several directors to the Tamil film industry, was born on November 23, 1923. In a large family, Srinivasan was the sixth kid. The siblings of Srinivasan are Kannappa Chettiar, Gandhimathi, Muhammad, Gnanaambal, Sswarnammaal, Kannadasan, and Sivakami. Srinivasan began his professional life as a banker and gradually advanced to become a distributor and producer. He also had film studios in Coimbatore and Madras. He has been enamored of movies since he was a young child. In 1941, after finishing eighth grade, he began working in Chennai at a salary of 40 rupees per month. He then continued to Coimbatore, where he accepted a position as a distributor of films representative. During that time, he met N. S. Krishnan and T. R. Mahalingam. He created the film production business Coimbatore Pictures with Thirumalaisamy Gownder, Muthumanickam, and Duraisamy Gownder. The company distributed motion pictures. The firm acquired the film "Velakkaari" rights, authored by "Arignar" Anna.
