Dinesh Kanagaratnam is an Indian music producer, hip hop and R&B music artist and songwriter from Colombo, Sri Lanka. He started his career as a designer. He then headed toward his career in the music industry and got success. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in IT (Informational Technology) in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, India and started teaching IT courses in Sri Lanka. He has created a cross-culture album in 2005 which is a song that consists of Tamil, Sinhala, and English. He started recording rap songs until his song “Aathichudi” for the soundtrack of a Tamil drama trailer in 2008.
He continued to work in the Tamil and Telegu film industry for writing and performing English language rap for soundtracks for the films. He got fame after he collaborated with A. R. Rahman for the film Kadal in 2013. He has rapped for many high-profile soundtrack albums for A. R. Rahman. He has also joined several concert tours in Sri Lanka, India, Malaysia, and Singapore. He is famous for his rap battles in the concert tours. He also often collaborates with music directors of Tamil industries as a male playback singer He is having a good position among the most popular rappers in the world.
