Yog Japee is a Tamil writer, trainer, and actor. He founded the Theatre Y, a theatre company based in Chennai that focuses on training the children. His passion is to mainstream theatre into education and uses it as a tool to bring social awareness and development. Yog is also passionate about folk traditions, myths, and history and he is working so hard to bring his stories alive on theatres and other mediums, most especially for the children. Because of this, he earned the prestigious International Fellowship on the Chevening-Clore Leadership Programme for Cultural Leaders, making him one of the four scholars who was selected internationally. Yog entered the Tamil film industry in Gautham Menon’s action drama film Kaakha Kaakha in 2003.
The following year, he made his first Telugu film appearance in Gharshana. His character as Ranjith in the gangster-thriller film Billa in 2007 becomes his major breakthrough. In 2012, he reprised his role in the prequel of the film entitled Billa II: The Beginning.
