Arun Balaji is a new actor in the Kollywood industry. This young artist is 26 years old. Before an actor, Arun is a professional swimmer. He is a swimming champion who broke and established records since he was just eight years old.

He started his acting career in the year 2012 with the Tamil movie ' Sevarkodi' by director R. Subramanian and the beautiful Malayalam actress ' Bhama' as a co-actress. For Bhama, it's her debut film in the Tamil cinema. Apart from Sevarkodi, Arun has worked in two more films in 2016; one in a supporting role and one as a lead character. 'Sevarkodi' is Arun's first film which got released all over India on 9th March 2012. It reflects a real life story, and the incidents occurred in the village 'Tiruchendur.'

The film was shot on the original location, and also including the scenes shot on the occasion of Soorasamharam festival in Tiruchendur. It was a challenging task to capture the movie scenes in the crowd of thousands of people and chaos all around. The action scenes during the festival were shot originally without external or technical effects by Arun himself. Despite all the risk and crowd, Arun took the brave decision of doing the stunts on his own when the director told him to do so. Arun has made India proud with his fabulous swimming skills. He broke the record of swimmer Kutral Ramesh (Kutraleeswaran) when he was just eight years old. He holds a world record, as he swam The Palk Straits in the duration of ten hours and thirty minutes. He also established a record in the year 1995 of swimming the distance of thirty-two kilometers in ten hours and forty-one minutes from Talaimannar to Dhanushkodi. Later, Arun trained his nephew in swimming. He always used to have a natural love for water and imitate him at home, Arun says. His nephew made a Guinness world record in swimming the distance of four kilometers in a Cosmopolitan Club's swimming pool in Chennai. This remarkable moment took place in June 2012 when the kid was just at the age of 15. One champion created the other at such an early age.

Coming back to the film career of Arun, his second movie was ' Adra Machan Visilu' by director Thiraivannan. Balaji played the role of Goripalayam Rehmath, a supporting character. The film was a comedy drama which released on 7th July 2016. His last film was ' Summave Aaduvom' by Kadhal Sugumar. Arun played the lead hero in the movie with actress Leema Babu. This film is based on an ancient folk dance form 'Koothu' and released on 15th July 2016.

Arun's character in three of the films is impressive. His acting and swimming skills are making him worldwide famous and gain fans in all parts of the country. We all are proud of him and his success in both the professions.
