Sasi Shanker

The late Sasi Shanker is an Indian film director, who have worked in Tamil and Malayalam film industry. He was born in 1957. His directorial debut film, Narayam, was released in 1993 with Murali and Urvashi in the main lead roles. Narayam got him a National Film Award for Best Movie on Social Issues. He had directed 11 films in Tamil and Malayalam. On August 10, 2016, the director was found unconscious at his residence and was rushed to a hospital in Kochi. However, he failed to survive and died the same day. He was survived by his wife, Beena Shanker and children, Vishnu and Meenakshi Shanker.
