Aditya Baskaran

Aditya Baskaran is a Tamil film director who debuted in 2015. He was born on 12th October 1992 and is from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He has worked primarily in the Tamil film industry. He is the director of the Tamil action and thriller movie, Maiem, which released on 16th October 2015. The movie narrates the story of a robbery that takes place in an ATM. Despite the simple plot of the cinema,

he has shown exceptional directing skills in the movie that had kept the audience engaged with the storyline. Baskaran knew what he wanted, which made the process of making the film smooth and perfect. He was pursuing his third year of Mechanical Engineering at SRM University, Kattankulathur, during this. He had been keen and enthusiastic about films since his school days. He had previously directed three beautiful short films that were posted on Youtube.

They are Voda Voda (2011), Judgement (2012), and Voda Voda II (2014), under the banner name of Blue Smoke Productions. The screenplay of the short film ‘Naan Varuven (2013)’ was done by him. He has been a member of ‘Chettinad Players’, a theatre troupe that was started by three friends from school. When he was still a school going boy, he had a cinema blog named Cinemania on Blogger and was a member of IndiBlogger, the largest Indian blogger community. He was also a reporter for the International Press of SRMMUN 2013.
