Deepali Noor was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Her mother is Madhu Dhawan and her profession is teaching in
New Delhi. Her father is a well-known mechanical engineer. She went to St. Anthony School in Mumbai. Later, she attended Sophia College to do her plus two. Then, she did Hotel Management at Asan Memorial DHMCT, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She married Sayadat Noor, the head of Sales and Marketing at Catalyst Properties Pvt Ltd. They have a daughter, Natasha Noor. Though Deepali Noor was born and spent her childhood in Bombay, now she settled in Chennai, along with her husband and daughter.
Deepali Noor never thought of entering the film industry and make a career out of it. She concentrated on studies from her childhood and never thought of any other career at all. As she got interest in Hotel Management, she studied accordingly. So one can say that she came, and settled in the film and television industry by chance or our of her interest. At first, she was the costume designer for a television commercial, which was one of her friend's request. But later, she observed that she would like to explore this profession, and want to go with it. Soon, she designed for the famous Rexona soap commercial. With the two commercials, she got huge recognition. She got many chances to design for films soon.
Deepali Noor has constructed a new style for herself. She thinks in a very creative way to plan the costumes. According to the situation, she plans differently. She made this career on her own. Her costumes didn't just appeal to the audience, but also to some famous fashion designers. She assisted for around thirty mainstream movies, and one hundred and fifty commercials. Her aesthetic sense is what makes her different from other fashion or costume designers.
Deepali Noor has many awards to her credit. For the 2010 movie ‘
Nanban’, directed by Shankar and starring Vijay, Ileana, etc. she got a nomination for the Vijay Award in the Best Costume Designer category. She gave her best shot for A. L. Vijay direction, ‘Madrasapattinam’, which starred Arya,
Amy Jackson, Nassar, etc. She received the Vijay Award in Best Costume Designer category, and Norway Tamil Film Festival Award. Her other notable contributions include Theri, Pencil,
Bangalore Days, etc. Apart from fashion designing, she is also a makeup artist for actors and a hair stylist to some actresses.
