Crazy Balaji

Balaji also called as "Crazy Balaji" is an outstanding actor and theater artist in the Tamil industry. He is the brother of the renowned entertainer and playwright Mohan Rangachari. Balaji has appeared on stage more than 4000 times. He has enacted in multiple plays and stage shows. Balaji was an alumnus of Raja Sir Muthiah Chettiar School. He graduated from the Vivekananda College, Madras University in Chennai. It was then he realized his capability as a promising and an upcoming actor in the industry. During his early career, Balaji worked at a bank. Later, he resigned and gave his sole focus into acting as a stage artist. He wanted to make this his full-time profession. Balaji was interested in drama and theater since his college days. He along with his childhood friends launched "The Crazy Creations" in 1979. Today it is one of the leading Drama Association in Tamil stage. Balaji acts as Madhu in all his dramas, and that is how we know him as Madhu Balaji.

In an interview given to the Hindu, he said that the talent of holding the audience spellbound runs in the family. Balaji's grandfather V.K Venkata Krishnan was a stage artist too. His mother was not content with him acting. Due to many shows, he hardly gave time to his family as he had a show almost every day which made him skip many birthdays and anniversaries. Madhu Balaji got his first movie break "Chinna Chinna Aasaigal" in 1989. He played many roles even in popular television series. He charmed the audience on the small screen as well as the silver screen. He won the best actor award many times for his comic roles. He also made it clear that he will only step down the day the audience loses interest in his comedy and until then he will continue to make them smile with his work.
