Tirru is a famous Indian Cinematographer, who has won many awards for his work. He is especially known for his work in the Krrish 3. Tirru was born on 28th March 1968 in Thirunavukarasu district of Tamil Nadu. Apart from being a cinematographer, Tirru is also a screenplay writer. He has worked mainly on Hindi and Tamil movies. He started his career as an assistant to a veteran cinematographer. He worked under P. C. Sriram. He completed his Bachelor in Science when he was twenty-one years old. After completing his graduation, he got interested in photography. He also helped his brother who was a dentist. He worked as an assistant to his brother. He started his job in the field of cinematography with a Tamil movie named Magalirmattum in 1994. The movie didn’t give Tirru any recognition. Though for his excellent work in the movie, he was offered another movie in the year 1995. He worked as a cinematographer in the movie Sakthi. After that, he worked in the movie Manjeeradhwan in the year 1998. Manjeeradhawan was a Malayalam movie and brought Tirru into the lime light. He made his debut into the Hindi cinema in the year 2000 with the movie
. The movie didn’t do well on the box-office, but Tirru received appreciation for his work. After that, he went back to working on Malayalam and Telugu movies.
From 2000 to 2004 he worked on many Tamil movies some of which include Alavandhan, Little John, and Lesa Lesa. In 2003, he returned to Hindi movies and worked in Hungama. The movie was a huge hit. After that, he didn’t leave Hindi cinema and worked on many movies like

. He debuted as a screenplay writer with a Malayalam movie named Mission 90 Days in 2007. Some of his most famous work as a cinematographer was in the movie Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani, Tezz, Krrish 3 and Geetanjali. Apart from working in movies, Tirru is also known for shooting more than 1000 commercials in the last 15 years. He got married to an architect and had two children.
