CB Arun Kumar

CB Arun Kumar is a Tamil cinematographer and producer. He graduated with a BA (Hons) in Economics from Venkateshwar college, Delhi University. Arun completed his master's in Mass Communication from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. He is the Dean of Communication Design, Film, and Gaming at Pearl Academy. He has over 30 years of experience in the animation, VFX, and post production industry and has worked in various cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. He is the Academic Director of FX School, Mumbai. He is very passionate about teaching and he was a founding member of FX School. Alongside filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, he started the use of DSLRs in low- cost feature film production.

He has worked for various companies in the Indian film and Television Industry like TV18, Business India, TV Today, Moving Picture Company, Maya Entertainment and Pixion, etc. He is known for films like The Attacks of 26/11(2013), Department (2012) and Dongala Mutha (2011). He has been working in the Animation and Visual Effects industry for a very long time. He won the National Award for Best Director of an animation program in 2005 for Kachua aur Khargosh, a 3D animated series based on Panchtantra, which was telecasted on Cartoon network. Arun is also an award- winning 360-degree VR photographer.
