Srikanth was an actor in the Indian Film Industry, who worked mostly in Tamil cinema. He was born in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu and had an acting career that lasted 4 decades. He had worked in over 200 films. Srikanth made his debut in the movie titled ‘Vennira Aadai’ in the year 1965, starring Jayalalitha. Before entering into cinema, Srikanth was a part of the American Consulate. He pursued theatre before starting his film career and was a part of several drama groups. His films include ‘ Naanal Naanal is the much awaited family drama created by >> Read More... ’ (1965), ‘Bama Vijayam’, ‘Poova Thalaiya’, ‘Anbai Thedi’, ‘Nootrukku Nooru’, ‘Vietnam Veedu’, ‘Gnana Oli’, ‘Vaani Rani’ and ‘Raja Rishi’. He was featured as the lead actor in around 50 movies and has also played the villain in several films.
He was seen in negative roles for some time in many films including ‘Selva Magal’ and ‘Thanga Gopuram’. After being seen in gray roles for some time, the film ‘Raja Nagam’ (1974) marked his return to romance. He played the leading actor in the movie ‘Dikkatra Parvathi’ (1974), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film – Tamil.
