Vijayakrishnan

Vijayakrishnan is a film director, film critic, writer, and film historian. He was born and brought up in 5th November, 1952 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He is a very popular film director and film critic. He is a story writer, and he also reviews the movies. He is also popularly known as one of the best film historians in India. Vijayakrishnan is married to his wife Asha and has two children named Sruti and Yadu.

Vijayakrishnan’s father’s name is Parameswaran Pillai and mother’s name is Vijayamma. Vijayakrishnan’s father was a social worker and a spiritual writer. He started writing stories under his father’s influence. He loved writing short stories and novels.

Vijayakrishnan was unaware of movies in his childhood, but somehow it grabbed his attention. He got the opportunity to watch movies in his childhood. He had interest in international classics. He couldn’t make his movies due to financial crises. So, he began writing reviews on movies. He had been honored with eight state awards, one national award, two critics’ awards and many more. He was also a member of the Kerala State Film Award Committee, National Award Committee and the Indian Panorama Committee for Filmotsav 1986.

He is also the member of the Indian Central Board for Film Certification and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. He is also the former director Board member of Kerala State Film Development Corporation. Vijayakrishnan is also a part of Board of Studies in Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University. He was also the secretary of Kerala Children’s Film Society and the President of Kerala TV Film Makers Association. He was also the jury member of Indian National Film Awards 2015. He has written many books such as Anuyay, and Padayottom, and Nidhi, and Thamasinte kannukal, and Samayaratham and many more.

His literary criticism includes Iruttil urangathrikkuna oral. Vijayakrishnan’s children literary works include Kamandalu and Boothathan kunnu. His works in the film include Kaalathil kothiya silpangal, and Satyajit rayyude lokam, and Karuppum veluppum varnangalum and many more. He was honored with Rotary Award, Kerala State TV Awards, Nana Mini-screen Award, State Children’s Literature Institute Award, Challenge Foundation Award, State TV Awards, Madhyama Patana Kendram Awards, Thirumanas Award, Soma Award, Mayoora Award, Sola Award and many more.
