Kochouseph Chittilappilly

Kochouseph Chittilappilly is an Indian writer, Philanthropist, and Business Magnate. The Forbes Magazine has deemed his Networth to be 973.1M dollars as of 8/10/2021. He was born in the Suburban regions of Thrissur, Kerala, on 1st January 1950. He graduated from Christ College, Irinjalakuda, and then completed his master's degree in Physics from St. Thomas College Thrissur in 1970. In 1977, he borrowed money from his father, C.O Thomas, to set up his small business of Voltage stabilizers. This business slowly grew to what it is now over the years. He is the founder of V-Gaurd, an electronics manufacturing company responsible for making voltage stabilizers. It is now the largest stabilizer in India, having 500 distributors, 3000 dealers, 20,000 retailers, and service centers all across India. V-guard has also become a prominent company in selling electric and solar Water heaters, UPS, Pumps, wring cables, ceiling fans, etc.

In 2000, he built the first Water themed Amusement park called Veegaland, thus diversifying his business. He is also responsible for creating the famous water park Wonderla in Bengaluru. He later changed the name of Veegaland to Wonderla Kochi. Veegaland is now a Real estate and Construction works company making flats and apartments in Cochin. In 2005, he published his first book, 'Practical Wisdom' talking about practical management techniques he developed from personal experience. He also two sequels to the previous book, namely- 'Practical Wisdom 1: Real life and Management' in 2010 and ' Practical Wisdom 2: Real life and Management' in 2012. He has also published his autobiography 'Ormakkilivathil' in 2011.

He is the founder of the K. Chittilapilly Foundation. This non-profit organization conducts philanthropic activities and supervises the functioning of Thomas Chittilapilly Trust (A charitable organization that looks after the sustenance and medical supplies of a nursing home and an orphanage called Shantimandiram, which provides food, shelter, and education for the less fortunate children).
