Daniell Sayooj Nair is a film writer and a screenwriter and works predominantly in South Indian Film Industry. He hails from Kerala and is best known for his work in a highly appraised movie “Kurup” (2021) and “Vrittham” and through his writings he has made a significant impact in the Malayalam film Industry. Daniell developed a passion for storytelling and writing at a young age; after completing his education, he pursued a career in screenwriting. His most appreciated project Kurup (2021), is a biographical crime thriller produced by Srinath Rajendran.
In the film he crafted a story of Sukumara Kurup, a notorious fugitive who evaded capture for decades. Daniell’s screenplay in this film was widely praised for its intricate plot, well-developed characters and detailed exploration of themes such as identity, morality and redemption. After the success of this film he shared that he draws inspiration from real-life events, literature & his own experience. His work often explores the human condition, delving into the complexities of human nature and the consequences of one’s actions. Daniell’s work on Kurup earned him several award nominations, including Best Screenplay at the Kerala Film Critics Association Awards.
