Merlin Reena

Merlin Reena is an Indian actress from Kerala who works predominantly in the Malayalam television industry. Reena has been passionate towards acting since her childhood. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Economics in 1995 from Calicut University, Kerala. Reena started her career in 1996 as a Traffic Assistant for ModiLuft Airlines at Cochin International Airport. She then worked as a Customer Service Administrator for BSH Home Appliances based in Kochi from 200 to 2004. Reena shifted to Dubai in 2004-05, after which she started working as a Projects Administrator in Gibca Furniture Ind LLC. From 2007 to 2012, she worked with two LLCs as a senior buyer and group procurement manager.

Reena was an employee of Leighton Welspun Contractors from 2012 to 2013. She then joined Saffron Media Corp towards the end of 2013 as a senior manager of operations and clients. In her college days, she participated actively in arts-related activities. She got married at an early age and moved abroad for seventeen years. After a hiatus from acting, Merlin Reena moved back to Kerala and got an opportunity to follow her passion. She got into the Malayalam television industry with the help of her friends. Reena featured in a minor supporting role in the 2004 Malayalam serial Minnukettu. Merlin Reena re-started her acting career after returning to India by playing the character of Teresa Paul in the Flowers TV Malayalam serial Anna Kareena.

She featured alongside Thomas Kutty, Catherine Reji, David John, Parvathy Rajan, and E.A. Rajendran. Reena got state-wide popularity after portraying a negative character in the famous Malayalam serial Kanyadanam. She remarked in an interview that, unlike her reel-life character, she never engages in quarrels with others. It is one of the top serials of Surya TV and started airing in 2021. She stars next to Aiswarya Suresh, Dona Anna, Aswathy Pillai, and Silpa Sivadas. In 2022, Merlin Reena received the Dr. Sukumar Azhikode award for her contribution to the field of art. Reena's debut Telugu movie is The Warrior (2022). An N. Lingusami directorial, the movie is available in both Tamil and Telugu languages.
