Akshara Gowda

Akshara Gowda is a South Indian actress who was seen in Tamil and Hindi films. Akshara Gowda was born as Harini to ‘JPS Gowda’ and ‘Gowri Gowda’ in Bangalore in the year 1991. Akshara has a sibling named, ‘Harshitha’, who is doing her tenth standard.

‘New Cambridge High School’ in Bangalore is her Alma Mater. She did her engineering in ‘SKIT College’. She was a state level throw ball player and a table tennis player. ‘Akshara Gowda’, was a model and she is seen in various advertisements of popular brands.

She was interested in cinemas and hence joined in the New York Film Academy and worked as an assistant for the popular film maker ‘Shekar Kapur’. She made her debut in the year 2011 through the Tamil movie ‘Uyarthiru 420’. ‘Chitkabrey - The Shades of Grey’ was her debut movie in Hindi; but it was a festival film. Her original debut movie in Hindi was ‘Rangrezz’, which was released in 2013.

She appeared in the Tamil film, Thupakki with Vijay as a cameo. She has also appeared in Ajith’s Arrambam and Atharvaa’s Irumbu Kuthirai. Akshara Gowda is booked to host the ‘Gollapudi Srinivasa Rao National Awards’ in August 2015. ‘Suhaasini Maniratnam’ recommended Akshara Gowda, to host the Award Show. She is in discussion with the filmmakers to finalize the terms to commit in some Tamil films.

Her next appearance was in the film Thuppakki directed and written by AR Murugadoss. The movie starred Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal, Vidyut Jamwal, Zakir Hussain, MD Asif.

The movie became the best grosser for the 2012 year. The film was further remade in Hindi as Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha and in Bengali as Game. She made her Bollywood entry through the movie ‘Rangrezz’ in 2013 by Priyadarshan.

The film starred Jackky Bhagnani, Rajpal Yadav, Priya Anand, Amitosh Nagpal and Vijay Verma in the lead roles. The movie was a remake of Naadodigal a Tamil film which was directed by Samuthirakani. She has made a special appearance in the Tamil movie Irumbu Kuthirai by Atharvaa and Arrambam by Ajith.

She has been a part of the movie Chitkabrey - The Shades of Grey, which was a festive movie. In 2015, she hosted the Gollapudi Srinivasa Rao National Awards. In 2011, there were rumors of was dating Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. However, she denied the rumors and said it is all made up by the media. He actress is currently shooting for Tamil/Telugu sci-fi movie opposite Sundeep Kishan. The movie will be directed by CV Kumar. The film is to be released in 2016.
