Vivek Gopan Malayalam Actor

Vivek Gopan

Vivek Gopan is a young, talented, good-looking actor from the Mollywood film industry, who has become the favorite of the small screen family audience ever since he started playing the lead role, Suraj, in the mega serial, ‘Parasparam’, on the Asianet channel. Vivek is more popular among the youth as the star player of the Amma Kerala Strikers cricket team in the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL). Vivek Gopan was born in Trivandrum in 1983. He did his schooling at Trivandrum. His family, being musically inclined, provided Vivek with the opportunity to get trained in music and classical dance. During his school days, he went on many stages for both his vocal and Bharatanatyam performances. His passion for the game of cricket overtook his passion for dance and music, which finally got him a place in the Under 19 Kerala state cricket team. After his studies, he worked in the pharma sector for some years. However, it was his talent as a cricketer which got him a place in director Priyadarshan’s cricket club, which later brought him to fame in CCL. Vivek had his moments in both CCL 2, 3 and 4, and he won the “Man of the Match” award in the match against Mumbai Heroes in CCL 3. Getting selected in Priyadarshan’s cricket club was the turning point in Vivek’s life, which paved ways to his acting career in movies. His debut movie was with Superstar Mohanlal in Priyadarshan’s ‘Arabiyum Ottakavum P. Madhavan Nairum’, in 2011. Since then, he has done many small sidekicked roles and villain roles in Malayalam movies like Ee Adutha Kalathu, Nakhangal, My Fan Ramu and Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty. He also got casted in a small role in Priyadarshan’s Bollywood movie, Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, in 2012. It was the Malayalam serial ‘Parasparam’, directed by Purushothaman and telecasted on Asianet since 2013, which brought out the real acting talent in Vivek Gopan. Vivek bagged the Best Actor award at the Asianet Television Awards-2014 for his role as Suraj in the serial. Another Version of this Bio... Gopakumar Vivek Gopan was born on the 3rd of April, 1983. in Thiruvananthapuram. We know him as Suraj from the TV serial, ‘Parasparam’, and it is without a doubt that everyone would be surprised to know that he is also a trained classical dancer, as well as a singer. He has undertaken performances on stage for both the arts, but after his schooling, he found his calling in cricket. Little did he know then that it would lead to an entirely new platform as such. He has played for the under 19 state team and this, in turn, gave him the opportunity to be a part of director Priyadarshan’s cricket team, post his seven-year work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. While playing for the director’s team, he heard of his upcoming cinematic venture in Malayalam, ‘Arabiyum Ottakavum P.Madhavan Nayarum’, and upon selection post some photo auditioning, he made his debut with the movie in 2011. It had Mohanlal and Mukesh in the lead roles. ‘Ee Adutha Kaalath’, a critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful film, saw him part of it next. This success was followed by movies like ‘Nakhangal’, ‘My Fan Ramu’ and ‘Thalsamayam Oru Penkutty’. In Hindi, he made an appearance in Priyadarshan’s ‘Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal’. In the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL), he played for Amma Strikers Kerala. Among the younger section of the population, this led to a wider acclaim and acceptance, as well as following for the actor. But his fame stands on solid ground when it comes to his lead role in the television series titled ‘Parasparam’, on the Asianet channel. He plays the role of a baker, who marries an IAS aspirant, Deepthi. The serial traces the difficulties Deepthi has to overcome in a patriarchal setup to follow her dreams. Her only support source is her illiterate yet informed husband, Suraj. Suraj too is encouraged by Deepthi in his cooking endeavours on National competitions and other platforms. ‘Parasparam’ is supposedly a retelling of the Hindi television serial, ‘Diya Aur Bati Hum’. It is not much of a surprise that while film actors are extremely popular, these actors from television series strike a chord with people of all ages, in the sense that they identify their everyday struggles, happiness, and aspirations with these ordinary yet inspiring characters. In this context, Vivek’s significance cannot be stressed enough.
