V.P. Krishnakumar, also known as Vannadil Puthiyaveettil Krishnakumar, is a vVteran Sound Editor who has the credit of working for notable television and film projects in the Malayalam cinema. Born on September 8, 1958, Krishnakumar schooled in Payyanur, Kerala. He pursued his higher studies at Payyanur College. Later, he learned audio engineering from Chennai and landed a job at the Kerala State Film Development Corporation.

Krishnakumar is an expert in sync sound, known for recording live audio of many films. Initially, he worked under P. Devdas at Chitranjali Studio. He also worked for Kalabhavan Digital Studios in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

The sound editor is also known for the 1983 Malayalam flick Koodevide, helmed by P. Padmarajan, starring Suhasini, Mammootty, and Rahman. He worked for Marana Simhasanam, a 1999 Malayalam drama film featuring Lakshmi Raman, Vishwas Njavakkal, and Suhas Thayat.

He has to his credit other Malayalam flicks like Nokkukuthi, Ananataram, Ilayum Mullum, Mukhamukham, Ore Thooval Pakshikal, Rugmini, and Marattam. His other movie credits include Sufi Paranja Katha, Sancharam, Celluloid, and Anandabhadram.

He has also worked with foreign directors like Andreas Voigt. Andreas made the documentary The Mahouts of Kerala, with Chitra Neogy, an alumnus of the Tisch School of the Arts at the New York University. The acclaimed sound editor served on the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy TV Awards 2016.

He works for Chitranjali Studios, where he heads the Department of Sound Recording.
