Niranjana is an actress in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She is from the Wayanad district of Kerala and studied at St.Catherine’s High School, where she took part in skit and drama shows. She initially wanted to be an IPS officer. She also has a Degree in Literature while studying in Business stream from Madras University. Niranjana has two sisters, one of whom is employed and the other is named Greeshma.
She was interested in acting from a young age. After applying for a casting audition she was selected for the role. Her family was very supportive. She moved to Chennai with her family soon afterwards. She speaks fluent Tamil, which she credits to watching Tamil movies throughout childhood.
She has also done modeling. Her first Tamil film was the Duraivanan directed 2013 film Yasakhan, in which she plays the love interest of the protagonist Surya (Mahesh). The role required a Madurai accent, which she found very difficult. The film was unique in that the female lead (Niranjana) woos the male protagonist, rather than the other way around.
Her second Tamil film was Soanpapdi. Directed by Balaji, the film is a comedy film produced by Shivani Home Productions. Her costar was actor Sri.
