Nandana is a Tamil and Malayalam actress, having done films in her twenties. She made her debut with Snehitan (2003). She was also seen in big budget films like the Mammootty starrer Sethurama Iyer CBI (2004). Tamil film Kalinga (2006) was the last film in which she was seen.

On 25th March 2025, Nandana lost her husband, Manoj Bharathiraja, to cardiac arrest. Manoj had undergone an open-heart surgery in February and was recuperating at home. Manoj was just 48.
