Johny schooled at SNVHSS N R City, Rajakkadu. The editor, who hails from Kothamangalam, began his career as a video editor with Amrita TV, Ernakulam, in 2005. In 2011, he switched to Mazhavil Manorama, and after working there for two years, he landed a job at Asianet. In 2014, Jeevan served as deputy chief video editor with Flowers TV.
Known as Jono by his birth name, the editor exchanged wedding vows with Anila John in December 2015.
