Vineeth Kumar is a Malayalam actor and film director. He was born in the year 1981. He started his career as a child actor in the Malayalam film, Padippura in the year 1989. In the same year, he acted in the Malayalam film, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, which stars Mammootty. Vineeth won the Best Child Artist award at the Kerala State Film Award for his performance as the young Chandu. He was later seen in Mohanlal-starrer film, Dasharatham. In 1991, Vineeth was cast in the Malayalam musical drama film, Bharatham, which was directed by Sibi Malayil and produced under Mohanlal’s production house, Pranavam Arts. This film won three National Film Awards and became the most popular movie at that time. Since then, there is no looking back for Vineeth Kumar, as he started to receive several offers in the Malayalam cinema. He acted in films like Inspector Balram, Sargam, Midhunam, Adwaytham, Vishnu, Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalathu, Thottam and Devadoothan.

In 2001, Vineeth was cast in Jayaram-starrer film, Sharja to Sharja, following with a titular role in Thulasidas’ Pranayamanithooval, alongside Jayasurya and Gopika in the lead roles. He also acted in Kanmashi, Mazhanoolkkanavu, Aparichithan, Sethurama Iyer CBI, Kottaaram Vaidyan and The Tiger. As time passed, Vineeth started to appear in more sigjificant roles. He usually bags more than two movies in a year. He was given the chance to act with Malayalam leading actors like Mohanlal, Mammootty, Prithviraj, Anoop Menon, Priyamani, Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Nivin Pauly and many more.

Vineeth later took a break from acting and turned to directing ad films and music videos. He explained in an interview that the reason for his absence on the silver screen is because films have a habit of typecasting an actor, and so he decided to take a break and not accept roles. He returned to acting through Sunil Ibrahim’s Chapters in 2012. In 2013, he starred in one of the stories in the Malayalam anthology film, Oru Yathrayil. In the same year, he did a Tamil film titled Kuthirai. In the year 2014, he acted in the Malayalam thriller film, Vegam, alongside Prathap Pothen, Jacob Gregory, Shammi Thilakan and Samskruthy Shenoy in the lead roles. In 2015, he made a guest appearance in the blockbuster comedy thriller road film, Oru Vadakkan Selfie. He also directed the romantic comedy film, Ayal Njanalla, which stars Fahadh Faasil.
Besides being a prominent actor and director, Vineeth is a trained classical dancer, who has been performing several stage shows. He also enjoyed performing western and contemporary dances. He openly tells that he’s doing live shows for money and nothing more. He got married to Sandhya, who was pursuing a degree in Engineering at the time of their marriage in 2013.
