Suresh Unnithan is an Indian movie and television director. He was born on July 30, 1956, at Pandalam, Cochin. He commenced his film career as an assistant director to Padmarajan, a renowned director of the Indian film industry. He made his directorial debut with Jaathakam, which became a box office hit. He also won the Best Newcomer Director award at the Kerala State film awards for the same.
He presented some hit films like Radhamadhavam, Aardram, MukhaChitram, Uthsavamelam, Sathyaparatinja, and others. He set foot in the Television Industry and gave some hit serials like Swamy Ayyappan, which went on to become the top-rated serial in Malayalam. After a break of 12 years, Director Unninathan came back to the big screen with “Ayaal,” starring Lal and Iniya as lead characters. He is awarded several awards like Kerala film critics award for Best Director in 1991, Asianet TV awards for Best Director in 2008, and Kerala State film award- Special Mention in 2014.
