Sohanlal

Sohanlal is a South Indian writer and director, works in Kerala. He is the son of Kamala Das and P K Das, who are school teachers. He has four older sisters. He completed his schooling at the SMV High School in Thiruvananthapuram. Later, he finished his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature degree from the University of Kerala.

Sohanlal additionally did a Post Graduate Diploma from C-Dac in Web Designing. He went on to do MBA in Marketing from MS University. He is a certified of the Advanced Yoga Teacher from Yoga Alliance International. Sohanlalis a yoga expert and mentor.

Sohanlal began his vocation as a creation assistant and content author with Doordarshan in Trivandrum from the year 1996 to 2000 and later has worked with significant TV stations such as Indiavision in Kochi from 2000 to 2002, Middle East Television (MET) in Dubai from 2002 to 2004, Jeevan TV in Kochi in 2004 and AMRITA TV in Trivandrum as Director of Programs from 2004 to 2012.He came into acclaim with the TV Movie 'Pedakom' in 2000 adapted from Guy de Maupassant’s short story.

The film broadcasted on Asianet, and it brought praise and a few honors best debut Director including the Kerala State Film Critics Association's Award. In 2006, Sohanlal was back in the spotlight once more, with a TV Film dependent on Kamala Das' renowned story `NeermathalthintePookkal,' an impactful articulation of her beloved recollections.

The movie delivered and broadcasted by Amrita TV and brought him worldwide consideration through celebrations and won more than 50 grants including Kerala State Awards for best Audiography, TV Movie, Music, Director and Screen Writer.He debuted with the feature film named 'OrkkukaVallappozhum' discharged on January in 2009, featuring standard Malayalam on-screen characters earned him the grant for Best Debut movie Director and the motion picture screened in different movie celebrations around the world.

The cast of the movie was Jagadeesh, Thilakan and RajithMenon. His second film 'Kadhaveedu' discharged on November of 2013 starring BijuMenon, and KunchakoBoban.This motion picture is the Historic met up of the jewels of Malayalam writing Madhavikutty, M. T. Vasudevan Nair and Vaikkom Muhammad Basheer.Sohanlal is the author of many books such as AakaashavumentePranayavum in 2007, Limelight in 2010, Ammamaram in 2017 and many more. He has also written biographical works such as P.Bhaskaran and M.P.Appan in 2013.
