Arun Chandu

Arun Chandu is a director, writer, and photographer based in Kerala. He predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. Since childhood, he was fascinated by the art of filmmaking and started his journey in the entertainment industry as a photographer and designer. In 2013, he made his debut as a still photographer and worked in the camera department of a film called Thira. It was a story about a woman, Rohini Pranab, a cardiac surgeon and a social worker who tries to find out the girls kidnapped from her NGO.

Thereafter, he directed Saajan Bakery Since 1962, which was a family drama revolving around sibling rivalry between the kids of the owner of a bakery.

His next directorial venture was Gaganachari, which is a sci-fi comedy satire and a social commentary on a dystopian society that may exist in the near future. The movie was shot during the Covid 19 pandemic and rests on the possibility that even in the darkest of times, love and compassion can triumph over bigotry and bias. Besides, Arun has worked in other films, including American Mappilai and Goodalochana.
