Rita Sasidharan

Rita is a medical oncologist, and she produced her first movie along with her husband Sasi Nambisan. The film was made in New Zealand and was a travel love story. The funding for the film was done by taking a loan on their New Zealand home. The movie cost around $880,000 and has been filmed entirely in New Zealand. The movie was released in 5 countries – India , New Zealand, Australia, Dubai and Singapore. She has been working as a consultant medical oncologist at Auckland City Hospital since the year 2006.

She has practiced private ontology; interestingly she’s the only female oncologist treating breast cancer in private practice. Her qualifications include MBBS Calcutta 1981 and FRACP 2007. Rita Sasidharan moved to New Zealand with her husband in the year 1998. It was her husband's dream to make a movie but that couldn’t happen before as they had professional and personal commitments and responsibilities to fulfill.

They produced their first musical tilted ‘Taj Mahal’ in which they took artists from various ethnic backgrounds. This gave them some confidence. Before this neither Rita nor her husband had any idea about “how films are made?”. After the musical they began working on the movie.
