It’s jackpot for Malayalam cinema!
Within the first half, Mollywood has left behind its competitors by miles, and nobody is more happy about it than Mammootty.
In a recent interview, the famous actor opened up on how the Malayalam cinema is reaping the benefits of a long movement, and why both the makers as well as the Malayalam audience deserve a pat on their backs.
According to Mammootty, unless the audiences themselves demand change, quality filmmaking will remain a distant dream. It was only after the local audience started demanding for better content, that the doors for good movies opened in Malayalam cinema.
However, Mammootty did not stop there. In a subtle jibe at the other movie industries, he mentioned that apart from the audience, the makers need to see to it that they understand the demands of their viewers. If the makers themselves take the audience granted, how can they expect the audience to shower love on their movies?
