Nagavally was a very well-known radio personality and writer from the 50s to the 70s. His literary works range from plays to film scripts. Nagavally's commentary is that which made him so revered. Back in the days when radio was the major media of entertainment, his comments left a lasting impact on his listeners. He joined AIR in 1951 and retired in 1977. He was a senior producer by then. His foray into films was as a script writer of Newspaper Boy (1955) which is regarded as a milestone in the Malayalam industry. He also played the role of Sankaran Nair in the film.
There was also Randu Janmam (1976) which he wrote and directed. The film was appreciated too. Over the course, he had written around 20 film scripts.His unmatched contributions in literary and drama have fetched him Kerala Sahitya and Kerala Natak Akademi awards respectively.
